What the ..... taken from Boy Mom

My friend over at Boys R Us has a hilarious weekly post titled " What the ......". This is a tribute to "What the ......."

Set the seen, Mom is at work and calls home to check on Tommy (13) Milo (7).

What the ...... You fixed your brother little brother chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast! I think to myself. Ummm sounds good. Wait a minute ....."Did you clean up the mess?" The last time Tommy fixed pancakes, I came home to a glass Pyrex dish filled with solidified pancake mix and a wire whisk stuck in the middle. I could only imagine what the chocolate chip pancake mess looked like. I ask again, " Did you clean up the mess and add do the dishes?" "Yes", in the lovely teenage tone of, " Why would you even ask such a question?"

Tommy calls Mom at work. He asks how to open up the kitchen table.

What the ....."How many friends are over there?"Here comes the teenage attitude again. There were only two friends there. Apparently they were there for the pancakes also. Any way Tommy asks again how to open the kitchen table. Why would he need to open the table? It is large enough for our family to sit at. Dare I ask. I have to, it is my parental duty. Oh ....I see the 7 foot red tail boa slithered into the table and is trapped (hiding) in the storage area for the spare table leaf. I never saw that coming!

Mom comes home from work.

What the ...... Sink full of dishes. The pancake dishes non the less. Otter pop wrappers strewn through the house. Dish towels smeared with butter, daily chores not done.....I think I'll stop there. You can probable imagine the site.

Mom hollered orders to clean up mess such.

What the..... comes the teenage attitude. "I don't understand why Mom is up set." What is her problem. " ( Hey , maybe I should make that a weekly post for me. )

Everyone relaxed and happy. Tommy took care of mess and chores. He is off playing. Mom, Milo and Lil' watching a DVD and eating chocolate chips (What the heck, those are for cookies.)

What the..... " I have a rock up my nose", says Lil'. Get flash light, lets take a peek. "Did you really put a rock up your nose?" " Yes". Sure enough, there it was. No pictures, sorry I thought I'd spare you the bulging bloody rock seen.

"Come on Lil' blow hard. Don't stick things up your nose sweetie!"

Boy Mom I love you, 7 boys ( make it 8 with new foster "teenager"). Just how do you do it?

My Illness

I friend of mine recently sent this to me. I am so glad that I am not the only one who feels this way. I am thinking of setting up a fund for those with this illness!
A A A D D
KNOW THE SYMPTOMS......PLEASE READ!
Thank goodness there's a name for this disorder.
Somehow, I feel better even though I have it!!
Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D..D.. (Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.)
This is how it manifests: I decide to water my garden.
As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.
As I start toward the garage, I notice mail on the porch table that I brought up from the mail box earlier.
I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.
I lay my car keys on the table, put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table, and notice that the can is full.
So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the garbage first.
But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I take out the garbage anyway,I may as well pay the bills first.
I take my check book off the table, and see that there is only one check left.
My extra checks are in my desk in the study, so I go inside the house to my desk where I find the can of Pepsi I'd been drinking.
I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the Pepsi aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over.
The Pepsi is getting warm, and I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.
As I head toward the kitchen with the Pepsi, a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye--they need water.
I put the Pepsi on the counter and discover my reading glasses that I've been searching for all morning.
I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going to water the flowers.
I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table.
I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV, I'll be looking for the remote, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I'll water the flowers.
I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it spills on the floor.
So, I set the remote back on the table, get some towels and wipe up the spill.
Then, I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do.
At the end of the day:the car isn't washed the bills aren't paid there is a warm can of Pepsi sitting on the counter, the flowers don't have enough water, there is still only 1 check in my check book, I can't find the remote, I can't find my glasses, and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day, and I'm really tired. I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail....
Don't laugh -- if this isn't you yet, your day is coming!!

Natural Pedicure

I had the day off from work, at the hospital, not from home. That never happens right? After a wonderful morning at the temple, picking up the little ones and dragging them to my doctors appointment, we drove by a local park. The little ones wanted to stop immediately, a few minutes before they were whining about being thirsty. Oh, no! Not gonna go play until they are fed and hydrated. So after a quick stop at BK, back to the park.

The park is located in Salem. We ventured through the wet land section first. Lots of icky, soggy, squishy mud. This is where Milo lost both flip flops in knee deep mud. I wasn't going to go diggin for them. We were not prepared for our adventure. Milo had to explore bare foot. No complaints there, I can't keep shoes on that kid. That was the second pair of flip flops lost in 2 months.

Back on the walk/run/bike/skate/scooter....... trail, we found the big pond. Fishing, duck feeding, small oar boats, and a sandy beach. As I said we were not prepared for such fun, no swim suits, towel, fishing gear, etc... We made due though. Searched for minnows, played in the sand. I made sure to cover the "crack " when I bent over to play in the sand or searching for bugs and fish. Ha-ha.... your not gonna get a nasty pic of me all you crazy bloggers.

After a while I called my mom, who was tending my niece and nephew, and told her to come on over. As I was sitting in the sand Lil' began to bury my feet. Ooh, felt so good. This is where it all began, the Natural Pedicure.

First Lil' exfoliated my feet. Stupid me didn't take a pic. I am sure you can imagine it. Dry tired feet in cool, damp sand, and toes wriggling. Lil' loved it so did I. It was fun to be with the kids and put off all the work that awaited me at home.

Second, had to wash the sand off, so on to the rocks to wash the happy feet with "pogg water", that's what my hubby calls it, and a gentle scraping of the dry skin with a stick.

Doesn't she have a great technique? So gentle too. You can't have a "natural pedicure" without a the final touch of a "pogg water plant sweeping"

Priceless!!! Well it cost me $13.52 for lunch at BK. Good luck getting one for your self I think I'll keep this little talented gem to myself.

When the pedicure was said and done, off to more exploring, and playing on the playground. Yep, aside from the pond there is a great park and playground. We had so much fun. We've already planned an afternoon there next week and we will be prepared! I love a lazy day.

Nineteen Years!

This Wed. June 9th is our anniversary. Wow, nineteen years. Jay and I met in high school. He was a senior and I was a sophomore. Boy did I fall hard for him. I can still remember the dance that I first met him at. He was wearing an old worn out denim jacket, that I later claimed as my own just so I could smell it. Can you believe that!
I still love being with him. We did not celebrate too big this year. We ran away to a local hotel. I was so excited to go. Our little ones have been finding their way in to our room several times during the night. I was anxiously awaiting to be able to sleep with out being disturbed. Plus the room had a KING size bed. Oh, I want a new bed. Our bed has about had it. I'd love to get a king size, but I am afraid that we wouldn't be able to fit anything else into our room. As a matter a fact, we would probably have to just dive in from the door. Yep, the kids got the big rooms, you'd think they'd stay in their own beds.
Dinner at Ruby River was fabulous, well at least mine was. Steak toppers, never heard of it before, I usually don't even use steak sauce. I indulged in a spinach and artichoke cream sauce on a top sirloin, Oh to die for. Plus the jacketed yam with cinnamon butter, aren't you craving some now? No room for dessert.
On to the cine mark. We watched, "Angels and Demons". I had read the "DaVinci Code", but not this one. I am not a big reader. Probably won't read this one now that I've seen the flick. We enjoyed it. Plus I love holding hands at the movies. Oh, did I mention there were no kids with us! Got to LOVE those little nights away!
Baskin Robbins? What I don't think I've been there since high school. I didn't even know there was still one in town. Scoop of Jamocha fudge and one of pistascho almond. Weird, why didn't they use pistaschos? Doesn't really matter, ice cream at 11pm, no kids, king size bed I'll getover it.
Romantic night together, KING size bed!!!!!
Sleep in...... breakfast 10:45 at village inn.
I new it wouldn't last long. Laundry, shopping, movie with family, yard work, and more shopping. I am tired. Mac -n - cheese for the little ones. Shh, don't tell. I had a pint of ice cream for dinner.
Next year the big 20yr, I am going to plan for a cruise, we deserve it.
Jay is a wonderful husband, friend, best friend, and father. He still makes me laugh and smile. Often I still get goose bumps and chills when we kiss. Oh, a feeling that brings me love, security, amongst other things.
I love you Jay!!

Cakes "Pooh and Tigger"

February 21st!!
Our Tommy and his Aunt Brooke share the same birthday. I remember calling my sis and telling her I was sorry that I couldn't make to her 16th birthday celebration. This pic is two years down the road. These are the first sculptured cakes that I did. It was really fun. I hadn't planned on making the Tigger cake. When I found out that my mom didn't have a cake for my sis. I decided to make one for her too. I haven't made a birthday cake for her since. Maybe I ought to do that for her next year.
